by attending one of our free, fun trainings in your neighborhood!

Recent health studies confirm the many great health benefits of volunteering Join like-minded people who are giving of their time and talents to move our communities forward! Tutors do not need to speak or understand another language to tutor.

HOW TO VOLUNTEER:
SCHOOL ON WHEELS TRAINING DATES:
Trainings are held on two consecutive Saturdays
TIMES:
9:00 am to 3:00 pm
DATES: SATURDAYS, JANUARY 5 & 12, 2013
(We provide coffee & muffins for breakfast. Please bring a bag lunch)
TRAINING LOCATION:
Congregation of St. Joseph LaGrange Center
1515 W. Ogden Ave. in La Grange Park
(Entrance on Willow Springs Rd-Gilbert Ave. & Ogden Ave. (east of Wolf Rd.)
Since 1993, School on Wheels has trained more than 1,800 tutors between 18 to 85 years of age of all backgrounds—homemakers, college students, professionals, and retirees—who come from Chicago and 45 suburbs. We have helped more than 4,000 students from more than 35 suburbs! It’s easy, and there’s always a friendly peer tutor around to offer help to new tutors. Join us! Literacy Volunteering is fun and rewarding!

TUTORS ON WHEELS TRAINING: Tutors on Wheels offers fun and dynamic trainings several times a year. You will be trained in one day how to use our easy-to-follow English literacy books. We provide you with all of the teaching materials. Trainings are every other month. Training is done in five hours in one day. Call us for the details!
